No one ever plans to get carpet stains. We all probably assume they’re going to happen at some point, but when they do, we sometimes panic! What’s the best way to get THIS stain out? Is it the same for melted cheese as it is for wine? How can I get the stain out before it sets? Step 1: Act Fast.
Step 2: Blot liquid spills with white towels or plain white paper towels. Avoid anything with prints or colors because that color might bleed onto the carpet. If your spill is semi-solid, use a spoon or fork to scoop up pieces. DON’T SCRUB OR USE A BRUSH.

Step 3: If you have it, use a CRI Certified Seal of Approval carpet cleaning product. If you don’t have one of these on hand, you can check out the Spot Solver. It has all sorts of carpet stain removal tricks for different stains and then will provide you with the best options for cleaning. For example if you have a coffee stain, the Spot Solver gives several suggestions including: Vinegar Solution – Mix one (1) cup of WHITE vinegar per two (2) cups of water. White vinegar is a 5% acetic acid solution. It is used most often to lower the alkalinity caused by detergent solutions or alkaline spills.
